GREEN BAY, Wis. — Green Bay Packers linebacker Erik Walden is expected to start against the New York Giants on Sunday despite his arrest on suspicion of domestic violence.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy says Walden’s situation is “under review.” Given the information the team has as of Wednesday, McCarthy says Walden is expected to play.
If Walden is subject to any form of discipline from the team, McCarthy says that would be an “in-house” decision that would not be discussed publicly.
Brown County District Attorney John Zakowski said earlier this week that Walden’s girlfriend originally told police they were arguing and he pushed her but she has changed her story to say she hit him first.
Walden spent the weekend in jail but has not been charged. He is scheduled to return to court Dec. 7.

SEAHAWKS: Seattle placed Sidney Rice on injured reserve after the wide receiver suffered two concussions within weeks of each other. He already had been ruled out for Thursday night’s game against Philadelphia. Rice finishes with 32 catches for 484 yards and two touchdowns. His best game was his first back in September when he had eight catches for 109 yards against Arizona.
JETS: New York running back LaDainian Tomlinson and wide receiver Jeremy Kerley were full participants at practice for the first time since injuring their knees more than two weeks ago.
RAMS: St. Louis quarterback Sam Bradford was limited in practice after aggravating a high left ankle sprain in Sunday’s loss to Arizona. Wide receiver Danario Alexander was a full participant, apparently recovered from a hamstring injury that’s sidelined him the last five games.
CARDINALS: Quarterback Kevin Kolb went through a full workout on Wednesday, the strongest indication yet that he finally is ready to return to Arizona’s lineup. Kolb suffered a foot injury Oct. 23 in a 30-27 loss at Baltimore.
CHARGERS: San Diego placed offensive tackle Marcus McNeill on season-ending injured reserve with a neck injury and signed tackle Jared Gaither off waivers. McNeill injured his neck Nov. 10 and was inactive for the past two games.
BILLS: A person familiar with the NFL’s disciplinary said Buffalo receiver Stevie Johnson has been fined $10,000 for his touchdown celebration in a loss to the New York Jets last weekend. Johnson mocked Jets receiver Plaxico Burress’ shooting incident while celebrating his TD.
