One man was killed and five others were injured early Sunday during a fight outside a Dupont Circle nightclub, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

A department spokesman said Sunday afternoon there could be additional victims. No arrests have been made.

The fight started at about 2:30 a.m. inside the Heritage India restaurant and club, then spilled onto the sidewalk, where at least three men were shot and three others were stabbed.

The victims were taken to area hospitals, where a shooting victim died. The conditions of the others were not immediately available.

The club, in the 1300 block of Connecticut Avenue Northwest, between Dupont Circle and N Street, was closed for several hours while police investigated.

The fatal shooting victim has been identified as Jhonte Coleman, 34, of Suitland.

This story is based in part on wire service reports.
