Ravens’ Lewis hopes foot will be good to go Thursday
OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Baltimore Ravens middle linebacker Ray Lewis hasn’t abandoned hope of returning from a foot injury in time to play Thursday night against San Francisco.
Lewis, 36, missed Sunday’s game against Cincinnati, ending his streak of games played at 57.
He watched Sunday’s game from the sideline and would prefer not to do so again Thursday night when the Ravens (7-3) face the 49ers (9-1). Lewis leads the Ravens with 68 tackles.
• The Denver Broncos released veteran quarterback Kyle Orton, six weeks after benching him following a 1-4 start. If another team claims him, it will be responsible for about $3 million in salary. If nobody claims him, he’ll be free to sign with anybody.
• Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger should be able to play effectively Sunday night at Kansas City despite a fractured right thumb, coach Mike Tomlin said. Tomlin also expects safety Troy Polamalu (rib) to play.
• Tom Brady threw two touchdowns passes to tight end Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman returned a punt 72 yards for another score to power the New England Patriots past the Kansas City Chiefs 34-3 on Monday night.

Kurt Busch searching for a crew chief again
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Kurt Busch has lost his second crew chief in three seasons. Penske Racing confirmed Tuesday crew chief Steve Addington has left the organization.
He joined Penske before the 2010 season after spending two seasons working with Busch’s younger brother, Kyle.
Addington guided the 2004 NASCAR champion to four victories and spots in the Chase for the Sprint Cup the past two years.

Tsonga sweeps past Fish in ATP World Tour Finals
LONDON — Jo-Wilfried Tsonga earned his first win at the ATP World Tour Finals on Tuesday, beating Mardy Fish of the United States 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 in his second Group B match. Fish seemed to be slowed by the hamstring injury that has disrupted the end of his season.
