NEW YORK (AP) - Mets star third baseman David Wright understands why New York is open to listening to trade offers.
After three straight losing seasons, general manager Sandy Alderson said this month that no player is untouchable. Wright, who attended the Mets’ announcement of their 50th anniversary plans on Wednesday, says he isn’t worried.
“Could it happen? Of course,” he said. “Am I thinking it’s going to happen? No.”
Alderson said last month that he expected Wright will remain with the Mets next season.
