SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - BCS Executive Director Bill Hancock says a replacement for former Penn State President Graham Spanier as Bowl Championship Series presidential oversight committee chairman will come from another board member in the next few weeks.
After a meeting of conference commissioners and university presidents on Monday, Hancock said the leaders are still in favor of the bowls and he’s “not hearing any ground swell of support” for a playoff system.
The current BCS contracts run through the 2013 season. Nothing in the postseason system is set beyond.
Hancock says “everything under the sun” is open for discussion, including eliminating automatic-qualifying conferences.
