SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - YouTube’s founders have bought a company that makes software to help businesses keep track of what’s being said about them on Facebook and Twitter.
Terms of the deal announced Monday were not disclosed.
Chad Hurley and Steve Chen will add Tap11.com to their new company, Avos. Two weeks ago, they acquired Delicious, a social bookmarking service, from Yahoo Inc.
Hurley says the goal is to “create the world’s best platform for users to save, share, and discover new content. With the acquisition of Tap11, we will be able to provide consumer and enterprise users with powerful tools to publish and analyze their links’ impact in real-time.”
Hurley and Chen started YouTube in 2005. They sold it to Google Inc. for $1.76 billion in 2006.
