MIAMI (AP) - When things were bad for the Miami Heat this season, coach Erik Spoelstra constantly reminded the team to ignore what he calls “the noise.”

Up 2-0 in the Eastern Conference semifinals over the Boston Celtics, Spoelstra wants the Heat to keep drowning out what they hear.

Spoelstra is reminding the Heat that it would be dangerous to dismiss the Celtics prematurely. He says they “deserve that type of respect.” LeBron James and Dwyane Wade agree with their coach, and were mildly amused by the suggestion Friday that Miami has gone from reviled to revered in the national spotlight over the past few weeks.

Says James, “It’s bizarre. We just need to continue to play our game and not care what people think.”
