NEW YORK (AP) - Another expert on Osama bin Laden has a book deal.
Steve Coll, best known for the Pulitzer Prize-winning “Ghost Wars: The Secret History of the CIA, Afghanistan, and bin Laden, from the Soviet Invasion to September 10, 2001,” will write a new book that covers events of the past decade, through bin Laden’s death last weekend. The publisher, Penguin Press, announced Wednesday that the book is currently untitled. No release date has been set.
On Tuesday, Crown Publishers announced a deal with Peter Bergen for “an immersive, definitive account” tentatively called “The Manhunt.” Bergen has also written “Holy War, Inc.,” “The Osama bin Laden I Know” and “The Longest War.” He is a national security analyst for CNN.
