VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA (AP) - Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic is coming home to Vancouver, a city that has hosted some of his biggest hockey moments.
The Bruins selected Lucic in the second round at the draft here in 2006. Less than a year later, he won a Memorial Cup junior championship, claiming that tournament’s MVP award with the Vancouver Giants.
The 22-year-old even had his own bobblehead night when the Giants put his old jersey into their Ring of Honor during the Bruins’ visit in late February. He followed up that honor with a goal and two assists in a 3-1 win over the Canucks.
But his first public hockey appearance in Vancouver came in a chicken suit as part of an intermission race to entertain fans.
