CHICAGO (AP) - No way LeBron James and Dwyane Wade were going back to Miami without the Eastern Conference title.
Miami’s two biggest stars played like it Thursday night, taking over the game in the fourth quarter and dragging Miami out of a 12-point deficit for an 83-80 win that put the Heat in the NBA finals for the first time since 2006, when they won the title.
James scored 12 of his 28 points in the final period and had the block on Derrick Rose’s last-ditch shot, while Wade finally found his groove in his hometown, going 4-of-5 for 10 of his 21 points.
The Heat will play the Dallas Mavericks in a rematch of the 2006 finals.
