Why is Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell not seeking the U.S. presidency? He ought to be. He was successful in wresting the governorship from the Democrats after they held it for two terms. Why not Mr. McDonnell for president?

Mr. McDonnell is a proven vote-getter, has all of the qualifications for president, has done a great job in his current position and has a U.S. birth certificate. He got a majority of the votes in a heavy stronghold of Democrats in the Tidewater and Northern Virginia areas and is liked by the Tea Party and moderate Republicans alike.

Mr. McDonnell has a proven positive voting record, an attractive family, a great military record and he balanced Virginia’s budget. Again, I ask: Why not Mr. McDonnell for president?
