INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Penske Racing driver Ryan Briscoe crashed early in Saturday’s Indianapolis 500 practice session but was uninjured.
He was taken by ambulance to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s medical center. He was released from the medical after a short stay and cleared to practice.
The rear of Briscoe’s car was severely damaged. Penske will try to arrange a backup car.
Qualifying for the race on May 29 is later in the day.
