CONCORD, N.C. (AP) - NASCAR chairman Brian France says there are limits to the “Boys, have at it” mentality, and drivers should have a clear grasp of what’s over the line.
Feuds between drivers in two of the last three races have created a renewed interest in NASCAR, but series officials must still balance that against dangerous behavior. Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick were both fined and placed on probation for their pit-road actions at Darlington.
The probation runs through June 15 and covers all NASCAR-sanctioned activity, including Saturday night’s $1 million Sprint All-Star Race.
Many view probation as fairly meaningless in NASCAR, but France said it means drivers have a different set of expectations during that period.
