BOSTON (AP) - In a May 1 story about the Mariners-Red Sox game, The Associated Press reported erroneously that at 44, Boston’s Tim Wakefield was the oldest pitcher to start a major league game since Roger Clemens.

Wakefield was the oldest to start an American League game since Clemens, at 45, started for the New York Yankees against Boston on Sept. 16, 2007. Jamie Moyer, 47, is the oldest to start a major-league game.
