ANKARA, TURKEY (AP) - Diana Taurasi is heading back to Turkey after being cleared of doping allegations she faced while playing in the country.
Turkish club Galatasaray said in a statement on its website Thursday that it reached a deal with Taurasi for next season.
Taurasi, who also plays for the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, spent last year with Fenerbahce but had her contract terminated after testing positive for banned stimulant modafinil.
The American basketball star was provisionally suspended by the Turkish league but was cleared of the charges after the lab that performed the test retracted its report in February.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
