WOONSOCKET, R.I. (AP) - Former Rhode Island Congressman Patrick Kennedy says he’s no longer writing a memoir that had been scheduled for release in November.
The son of the late U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy told The Associated Press this week he’s busy with other projects, such as his initiative to improve brain research, which will hold a conference in Boston this month. He says he can’t do both effectively.
Kennedy also starts a visiting fellowship this summer at Brown University and is getting married in mid-July to a New Jersey schoolteacher.
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt announced in October that Kennedy would write the book, titled “Coming Clean,” with political reporter Mary Ann Akers.
The publisher had said the memoir would be an intimate portrait focusing on Kennedy, his famous family and his struggles with addiction.
