WASHINGTON (AP) - The Washington Wizards have ditched the wizard.
The team unveiled its new red, white and blue uniforms Tuesday. Gone is the wizard logo and the blue and gold color scheme that the franchise adopted when it changed its name from Bullets in 1997.
Now the team looks like the Bullets again in everything but name. Owner Ted Leonsis said fans and ex-players told him they loved the old look, so that’s the direction they went.
He said the new uniforms “will look even better when we’re a really, really good team.”
