WASHINGTON (AP) - Lightning left wing Simon Gagne and defenseman Pavel Kubina have been ruled out for Game 2 against the Capitals.

Defenseman Randy Jones and center Blair Jones were slated to play for Tampa Bay on Sunday night for the first time this postseason.

Gagne and Kubina were injured Friday in the Lightning’s 4-2 victory in Game 1.

Gagne’s helmet slammed against the ice when he dropped down after being lifted off his feet on a hit by defenseman Scott Hannan in the first period. Kubina didn’t play in the third period after getting hit by forward Jason Chimera late in the second.

Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau said he hoped injured defenseman John Carlson would play in Game 2 but was vague about forward Mike Knuble, saying: “He’s taking warmups as an inspiration.”
