CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - A setback in Charlotte Bobcats forward Tyrus Thomas’ recovery from left knee surgery will keep him sidelined against the Chicago Bulls.
Thomas woke up Wednesday with soreness a day after his first full-contact practice since he was diagnosed with a torn meniscus on Jan. 20. Thomas sat out shootaround and says he now hopes to return Friday against Portland.
Guard Stephen Jackson also was less optimistic a day after coach Paul Silas declared he would return from a strained left hamstring Wednesday against the Bulls.
Jackson calls himself a “game-time decision” and says there’s some risk in him re-injuring his leg.
The Bobcats have dropped five straight, but sit a game behind Indiana for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
