MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love missed practice on Tuesday because of a bruised left knee.
The team does not believe that the injury will keep him from trying to surpass Moses Malone’s mark of 51 straight double-doubles on Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers.
Malone had 51 in a row over two seasons, 1978-79. That’s the longest such streak since the NBA and ABA merged in 1976.
Love tied that mark against Dallas on Monday.
Love was not at the practice facility on Tuesday while going to a doctor for an MRI. He was injured when he fell to the floor against the Mavs, but finished the game and had 23 points and 17 rebounds.
