MILWAUKEE (AP) - The Boston Celtics have signed Carlos Arroyo for the rest of the season after the guard was released by the Miami Heat.
Celtics coach Doc Rivers says that Arroyo will join the team on Monday.
Arroyo will be expected to provide veteran depth and shore up the guard position for a group that’s missing five players.
The Heat waived Arroyo on Tuesday to make room for Mike Bibby. Arroyo, a nine-year NBA veteran of six different teams before Boston, made 42 starts for Miami, averaging 6.4 points and 2.2 assists per game this season.
