COLUMBUS, OHIO (AP) - While Jim Tressel’s NCAA violations hang like a specter over his program, the Buckeyes begin spring practice faced with a number of other key questions.
Tressel says it’s going to be “a little bit different team” on display during the 15 workouts which began Thursday.
The Buckeyes, who went 12-1 last year, have been hit heavily by graduation, and also by suspensions _ with five standouts including starting quarterback Terrelle Pryor out for the first five games this fall for accepting improper benefits.
On top of that, the NCAA is investigating Tressel for knowing about, but not telling anyone of, those improper benefits for almost nine months.
Still, with all those dark clouds hovering, it’s still back to business for the Buckeyes on the field.
