WACO, TEXAS (AP) - A grand jury has cleared Baylor guard LaceDarius Dunn of an assault charge that led to his suspension at the start of this season.
Dunn’s attorney, Vik Deivanayagam (vick dee-vun-AYE’-gum), says a McLennan County grand jury refused to return an indictment against the player.
The attorney said Thursday that Dunn is pleased to be exonerated by Baylor, the county district attorney and the grand jury.
Dunn, who recently became Baylor’s career leading scorer, missed the first three games after he was arrested and accussed of breaking his girlfriend’s jaw in September. The woman, LaCharlesla Edwards, the mother of Dunn’s young son, disputed police accounts and had asked that chrages be dropped.
