Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s car accident Tuesday on the George Washington Parkway resulted in him getting a $70 ticket.
Justice Scalia, 75, was on his way to work when the accident occurred, accord to U.S. Park Police spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said.
The accident was a four-car fender-bender. No injuries were reported, but Scalia’ car had to be towed, according to the Washington Post.
The accident happened just before 9 a.m. on what was to be a big day for the jurist: The nation’s highest court was hearing arguments in the massive Wal-Mart gender discrimination case. Justice Scalia was driving south on the parkway approaching Roosevelt Bridge when he rear-ended a car that had stopped for traffic, triggering a chain reaction, police said.
