The long-awaited grand opening of the beautiful BMW of Alexandria showroom and service facility took place on Feb. 18. It was a lavish affair for both BMW patrons and specially invited guests who enjoyed live music, delicious hors d’oeuvres and a variety of refreshments. The hosts for this elegant event were the executives from the Rosenthal Automotive Organization, who are partners in the business venture. Robert M. Rosenthal and his wife were also there to personally welcome guests as they arrived. Donald Bavely, President of the company, took a few minutes to address the packed showroom and to thank the BMW customers who were there either visiting the service department or actually buying vehicles during the event. He said he is very proud to be a part of this project because he truly wants BMW of Alexandria customers to have a state-of-the-art sales and service facility that reflect BMW’s commitment to quality, excellence and provides the utmost in customer satisfaction.

Joining in the celebration were dignitaries from BMW of North America, BB&T bank, which provided financing for the facility, and Scott Price, representative for Virginia Sen. Mark Warner. Even William Euille, the mayor of Alexandria, was there. A number of them spoke about how excited they were to have played a part in helping breathe new life into Alexandria’s business community, as well as in helping move and transform the old BMW of Arlington facility into a totally redesigned, modern and luxurious dealership operation. As the evening wore on, more and more people realized that the corner of Edsall Road and Pickett Street would never be the same again — and that BMW of Alexandria is here to stay.
