If we woke up this morning in reasonably good health, with our houses still intact and our families alive, we should count ourselves blessed.

Thousands of people in Japan awoke this morning to nothing but the smell of death and destruction. For most of the weekend, I watched the devastation left in the wake of Japan’s massive earthquake and tsunami on Friday, and it is truly heartbreaking to see entire cities destroyed.

If I could encourage Wisconsin’s protesters to do one thing, it would be this: Go home. They should get back to work, allow democracy to thrive and count their blessings.
