WASHINGTON (AP) — Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, on Wednesday exhorted House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to force embattled Rep. Anthony D. Weiner to resign.

Mr. Priebus told NBC’s “Today” show that both Mrs. Pelosi, California Democrat, and Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, Florida Democrat and chair of the Democratic National Committee, have an obligation to force Mr. Weiner out in the wake of revelations that Mr. Weiner, New York Democrat, engaged in sexually provocative conduct, including sending a crotch shot photo from his Twitter account.

Mr. Priebus said he’s against a House ethics investigation of Mr. Weiner, who has admitted wrongdoing. Mr. Priebus said such a probe would be “a slow drip, drip, drip type of story, and in a couple of weeks, my guess is he’s going to have to resign because it’s going to be such a distraction.”
