ST. PAUL, MINN. (AP) - New Minnesota Wild head coach Mike Yeo has finalized his staff, keeping three assistants and adding a fourth.
The appointments were announced Thursday by the Wild. Yeo was hired two weeks ago from Minnesota’s American Hockey League affiliate in Houston.
The addition to the staff is former NHL defenseman Darryl Sydor, who was an assistant to Yeo with the Aeros last season. The 18-year veteran played in more than 1,200 games with six teams.
Assistant coaches Darby Hendrickson and Rick Wilson will return for their second seasons on the Wild bench. Goaltending coach Bob Mason will begin his 10th season in that role for the team.
Dave Barr was the lone assistant coach fired this year, along with head coach Todd Richards.
