NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Mark Ingram figures there no use dwelling on whether the NFL lockout will stunt his growth as a player, and he downplays the apparent tension that the Saints’ decision to draft him has caused with Reggie Bush.
If anything, Alabama’s 2009 Heisman Trophy winner sounds pleased with how his pro career has begun.
Ingram says he likes living only a few hours from where he played in college and is impressed by the Saints’ veteran leadership.
The rookie running back has been joining his new teammates at Tulane for workouts organized by Drew Brees. Brees says Ingram looks like he’s in great shape and could be a big part of New Orleans’ offense.
Meanwhile, Ingram says Bush has called him since the draft and their relationship is fine.
