NEW YORK (AP) - Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter limped toward first base after hitting a fly ball in the fifth inning and immediately left Monday night’s game against Cleveland.

Jeter singled his first time up for career hit No. 2,994. He grounded out in the next at-bat and flied out in the fifth. Jeter began limping as soon as he left the batter’s box.

There was no word on the severity of his injury.
