MONTREAL (AP) - Formula One points leader Sebastian Vettel had his practice run at the Canadian Grand Prix cut short when he lost control in a turn and hit the wall.

Vettel got out of the car on his own and walked to the safety van, apparently uninjured. The car was lifted by a crane and removed from the course. The rest of the field resumed practice six minutes later.

Vettel is the runaway points leader in Formula One so far this season, winning five of the first six races. He was trying to navigate a quick right-left combination turn _ the final one on the circuit _ when he skidded and hit the wall with the right front tire.

The Canadian Grand Prix is Sunday.
