METAIRIE, LA. (AP) - The agent for Mark Ingram says the former Alabama Heisman Trophy running back has agreed to contract terms with the New Orleans Saints.
Ingram arrived at Saints headquarters on Saturday morning to sign his contract and could be ready for his first practice on Sunday.
Agent Joel Segal did not release the terms of the deal with Ingram, who was taken 28th overall with the Saints’ second of two first-round draft picks.
The agreement comes on the heels of a flurry of activity for the Saints, who agreed to a handful of free agent deals on Friday night, including a four-year contract with starting strong safety Roman Harper.
Still unsigned was New Orleans’ top overall draft choice, defensive end Cam Jordan, and third-round pick, linebacker Martez Wilson.
