DAVIE, FLA. (AP) - The Miami Dolphins have completed the trade for Reggie Bush by sending safety Jonathon Amaya and an undisclosed draft pick to the New Orleans Saints.
Bush was acquired Thursday, when he agreed to a two-year contract for nearly $10 million with the Dolphins. Bush was due about $11.8 million this season, the final year of his contract with the Saints, who face salary-cap constraints.
Bush is a dynamic kick returner and receiver out of the backfield when he is healthy. But he’s been plagued by a series of injuries in his career. Still, he gained 4,982 all-purpose yards for the Saints and scored 33 touchdowns.
Amaya was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Nevada in 2010. He led the team with 15 tackles on special teams.
