PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) - The Buffalo Bills are opening camp with first-round draft pick Marcell Dareus under contract.
A person familiar with the deal said Friday the defensive lineman agreed to a four-year, $20.4 million contract. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the Bills have not released terms.
Selected third overall out of Alabama, Dareus signed about 90 minutes before the Bills were to take the field for conditioning in suburban Rochester. The first practice is Saturday.
The Bills also announced the signings of defensive back Da’Norris Searcy, a fourth-round pick, and running back Johnny White, a fifth-round pick. The rookies were teammates at North Carolina.
Two of Buffalo’s nine rookie draft picks are unsigned.
