CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane had surgery to repair a broken bone in his left wrist.
Team physician Dr. Michael Terry says in a statement Tuesday that the operation to repair a scaphoid fracture in the right wing’s left wrist “went well” and a full recovery is expected.
Terry says Kane will start “modified” workouts shortly and resume full activity in six-to-eight weeks.
The Blackhawks disclosed the injury last week, saying it was discovered recently during offseason training. Kane was second on the team last season behind Jonathan Toews with 73 points, including 27 goals.
