Mila Kunis accepts video invite to Marine ball

With the help of a simple YouTube video, U.S. Marine Sgt. Scott Moore’s dream of spending an evening with Hollywood starlet Mila Kunis is one step closer to reality.

Currently deployed in Afghanistan, Sgt. Moore posted a video on YouTube requesting the presence of Miss Kunis at the Nov. 18 Marine Corps Ball in Greenville, N.C.

“Hi Mila, I just want to take a moment out of my day to invite you to the Marine Corps Ball with yours truly,” the uniformed sergeant said on the video, with an Afghan base in the background. “So take a second to think about it, and get back to me. All right, bye now.”

Miss Kunis wasn’t aware of the invitation until Fox411 reporters asked her during an interview if she planned to accept.

The 27-year-old actress was surprised to hear of the video and turned to “Friends With Benefits” co-star Justin Timberlake for his take on the invitation.

“You need to do it for your country,” Mr. Timberlake egged her on.

Miss Kunis, apparently inspired by the former boy-band pop star’s prompting, accepted.

“I’ll do it for you,” Miss Kunis replied. “Are you going to come?”

Mr. Timberlake reportedly declined Miss Kunis’ offer to be a co-date, saying, “They don’t want me; they want you.”

Since Miss Kunis accepted the invitation, Sgt. Moore’s YouTube account, “GoWithMeMila,” has swelled with comments from fellow YouTube posters.

N.Y. man can’t remember Sullivan Theater break-in

A man who reportedly trashed the lobby of the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City early Sunday morning claims he cannot remember his actions.

The New York Post reports that aspiring Broadway actor James Whittemore was intoxicated when he urinated on a glass door outside the theater and then kicked his way through it. As seen on surveillance-camera footage, Mr. Whittemore, 22, then grabbed a velvet-rope stanchion to break two more doors.

According to the New York Post, Mr. Whittemore’s lawyer said his client “almost came to tears” when he realized the implications of his drunken escapade. Mr. Whittemore was charged with burglary and criminal mischief.

He was arrested by New York City police officers. His bail was set at $6,000 bond or $3,500 cash. At the time the article in the New York Post was published, Mr. Whittemore had yet to make bail.

The “Late Show With David Letterman” is filmed at the theater. The break-in was the subject of Mr. Letterman’s Top 10 list on Monday’s show.

First lady’s lunch choice raises some eyebrows

Since becoming first lady, Michelle Obama has become a champion of better eating habits for Americans. That is why it was a surprise to many when Mrs. Obama chose the Shake Shack on Dupont Circle for lunch Monday.

In a 2010 interview with the New York Times, Mrs. Obama declared her wish to reduce childhood obesity. “That’s the legacy I want,” she said.

To promote this cause, she started the “Let’s Move” campaign and, like Eleanor Roosevelt, planted a White House vegetable garden.

Yet her meal at the District’s newest burger joint added up to more than 1,500 calories, The Washington Post reported. Mrs. Obama enjoyed a Shack Burger, fries, chocolate shake and a Diet Coke.

“I can’t stop eating them,” the first lady recently said of her favorite food, french fries, in a Q&A with students at University of Cape Town.

Although many of Mrs. Obama’s food choices have been criticized since the launch of her healthy-eating campaign, she has echoed the words of many nutritionists: “It’s all about moderation.”
