NASHVILLE, TENN. (AP) - Country Music Hall of Fame member George Jones is back at his home just outside Nashville Thursday after being hospitalized overnight.

His publicist, Kirt Webster, tells The Associated Press that “George is home, resting and all is well.” Webster says Jones feels fine and was even making football predictions.

The 79-year-old went in for an annual checkup Wednesday, and doctors required him to stay overnight to continue monitoring him. He underwent a number of tests and was cleared to leave the Nashville-area hospital.

Jones has received numerous awards and charted more than a dozen No. 1 hits throughout his long career, including the classic song “He Stopped Loving Her Today.”

He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1992.
