OPINION:
Jeffrey T. Kuhner seems to overlook the real drivers in postponing the much-debated, snowed-out NFL game to a different time - the NFL lawyers and the concession merchants (“The fall of America,” Commentary, Friday).
The lawyers examine the risk of lawsuits from people who get into accidents on the way to an event that “reasonable persons would have canceled.” They thus poison their organization’s own wells. As for the concession vendors looking at reduced attendance, and therefore sales, they would lobby strongly for postponement to a time that would bring more people to the event.
