NASHVILLE, TENN. (AP) - Nashville forward Jordin Tootoo has been cleared to return to practice with the Predators by the NHL and the NHL Players’ Association.
The league and players’ association announced Monday that Tootoo has entered the follow-up care phase of the joint substance abuse and behavioral health program. That allows him to practice with the Predators while continuing outpatient care.
But Tootoo has not been cleared yet to play in games or travel on road trips.
Tootoo voluntarily entered the inpatient program Dec. 27, and his care is being overseen by program doctors with one each for the NHL and the players’ association.
The Predators return to practice later Monday following the All-Star break.
