HARRISON, N.J. (AP) - English forward Luke Rodgers has signed with Major League Soccer’s New York Red Bulls where he will be reunited with coach Hans Backe, his former manager at Notts County.
The 29-year-old scored 13 goals in 46 games for Notts County, which was promoted to League One this season for fourth-tier League Two.
Rodgers previously played for several lower-lower clubs in England, including Shrewsbury (1999-05), Crewe Alexandra (2005-07), Port Vale (2007-09) and Yeovil (2008-09).
