WASHINGTON (AP) — The Mid-Atlantic region’s largest snowfall so far this season has left hundreds of thousands of customers without power.
As of 10:30 a.m. Thursday, about 290,000 customers in the Washington region were without power, including D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray.
Pepco was reporting that about 176,000 were affected, a majority of them in Montgomery County. In northern Virginia, Dominion Power says about 104,000 do not have power.
Meanwhile, Baltimore Gas and Electric said some 86,600 customers in Maryland were without power, most in Anne Arundel and Baltimore counties, as well as Baltimore city.
Delmarva Power, which serves Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore, was reporting about 14,800 customers without power, mostly in Cecil and Harford counties on the Eastern Shore.
