WASHINGTON (AP) — Washington Archbishop Cardinal Donald Wuerl is celebrating a Mass in remembrance of those who died in an earthquake in Haiti one year ago.

Wednesday’s Mass will be held at 4 p.m. at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in northeast Washington.

The Basilica’s bells will toll 35 times at the start of Mass as a reminder of the 35-second earthquake. The Ambassador of Haiti is expected to attend.
