DALLAS (AP) - The Dallas Mavericks have signed forward Sasha Pavlovic to a 10-day contract.
The deal Monday comes after All-Star forward Dirk Nowitzki has missed seven consecutive games with a right knee injury. The Mavericks are also without Caron Butler, who is likely done for the season because of a torn tendon in his right knee.
Pavlovic hasn’t been in the NBA this season, but has played 452 games over seven seasons with Utah (2003-04), Cleveland (2004-09) and Minnesota (2009-10). He was originally a first-round pick, 19th overall, by the Jazz in 2003.
The native of Yugoslavia has career averages of 5.5 points, 1.9 rebounds in 16.5 minutes per game.
Pavlovic will be available for Wednesday night’s game at Indiana.
