INDEPENDENCE, OHIO (AP) - The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired rookie forward Luke Harangody and rookie center Semih Erden in a trade with the Boston Celtics.
Shortly before Thursday’s deadline, the Cavaliers sent Boston a second-round pick in 2013 to the Celtics in exchange for the players. Cleveland acquired the selection last summer from Minnesota in the deal for guard Delonte West.
The Cavaliers have been interested in Erden, a 7-footer from Turkey, for some time. He’s averaging 4.1 points and 2.9 rebounds in 37 games.
Harangody, who played at Notre Dame, averaged 2.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in 28 games. He led the Big East in scoring and rebounding last year.
