CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - The Toronto Raptors are getting even younger by acquiring second-year forward James Johnson from the Chicago Bulls for a first-round pick in this year’s draft.
General manager Bryan Colangelo says the Raptors have been eyeing Johnson since the 2009 draft. The former Wake Forest player went to the Bulls with the 16th pick.
Johnson has had a limited impact, playing in 78 games over two seasons and averaging 3.8 points and 1.9 rebounds. He recently served a stint in the NBA Development League.
The move gives Toronto another prospect as it continues to rebuild following Chris Bosh’s offseason departure to Miami.
