NEW YORK (AP) - Instead of looking for the next Maradona, Major League Baseball is seeking the next Manny.
MLB International said Thursday it will host an elite camp in Brazil for the first time in Ibiuna from Feb. 21-24 and Sao Paulo on Feb. 25.
Former MLB All-Stars Barry Larkin and Wally Joyner will be instructors at the sessions, which are co-sponsored by the Confederation of Brazilian Baseball and Softball. Bob Didier, Bruce Hurst and Elias Sosa also will be on the coaching staff.
Top junior players from Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Panama and Peru have been invited to participate.
