SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Amazon.com Inc. says it will buy 450 of educational and consumer book publisher Marshall Cavendish Corp.’s U.S. children’s book titles.

Seattle-based Amazon said Tuesday that it will purchase the titles for an undisclosed amount. The purchase will help Amazon’s publishing business, Amazon Publishing, move deeper into children’s and young-adult books, Amazon said. The online retailer also plans to make many of the books available as e-books for the first time.

Titles acquired through the purchase include “Three Little Tamales” by Eric A. Kimmel and “My Name is Not Easy” by Debby Dahl Edwardson.
