D.R. Horton is building 13 single-family homes on 7,500-square-foot sites at Kensington Heights in Kensington, near the Wheaton Metro Station and the Kensington MARC train station. Several shopping centers also are nearby.

Each home in this Montgomery County community will include a siding, brick or stone exterior; professional landscaping; an asphalt driveway; and a two-car garage.

Inside, both models feature four bedrooms; 3½ baths; hardwood flooring in the two-story foyer; 9-foot ceilings on the main and lower levels; crown and chair-rail molding; a gas fireplace; granite counters, a pantry and recessed lighting in the center-island kitchen; a powder room with a pedestal sink and hardwood flooring; a luxury master bath with ceramic tile flooring and a glass-enclosed spa-style shower; a high-tech wiring system; and gas heat and water heating.

The homes have 2,809 to 2,986 finished square feet, with base prices from $629,990 to $639,990. Homeowner association fees are $300 per year.

The Easton model, with 2,809 square feet, is priced from $629,990. This home features a front porch leading into a two-story foyer.

Adjacent to the foyer are the formal living room and formal dining room. The main level has a central staircase to the upper and lower levels, a library, a family room with columns and a fireplace, and the kitchen with an adjacent breakfast area. This level also has a powder room and a mudroom.

Upstairs, the master suite has a separate sitting room, a walk-in closet and a luxury bath. Buyers can add a balcony off the bedroom and convert the sitting room to a loft. The fourth bedroom has a private full bath, while the second and third bedrooms share a full bath off the hall. A laundry room completes this level.

Options include finished lower levels, morning rooms, room extensions, first-floor bedrooms, balconies and tray ceilings.
