OWINGS MILLS, Md. | Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Anquan Boldin had knee surgery Thursday to deal with slightly torn cartilage.
Coach John Harbaugh said the veteran wideout will miss the final two weeks of the regular season and be able to return for the playoffs. Lee Evans is slated to start with Boldin sidelined.
Boldin, 31, has 57 receptions for 887 yards and three touchdowns this year.
Coach John Harbaugh said former Pro Bowler Shayne Graham will kick in place of Billy Cundiff on Saturday against the Cleveland Browns. Cundiff has been struggling with a left calf injury and has missed three of his five field goal attempts in December.
Eagles’ Samuel ailing, may be sidelined for Cowboys game
PHILADELPHIA — Four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel missed a second consecutive practice Thursday with a hamstring injury.
Samuel is in danger of missing the Eagles’ game against the Cowboys on Saturday, a game the Eagles could need to win to keep alive their slim playoff hopes.
If the Jets beat the Giants in an early game Saturday, Philadelphia would stay alive in the division race with a win in Dallas.
Samuel hurt his hamstring in the Eagles-Jets game last Sunday, and coach Andy Reid said Samuel aggravated it at practice Tuesday. He hasn’t practiced since.
Titans’ Johnson expects to play against Jaguars
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Chris Johnson is back practicing, though limited for the Tennessee Titans. Barring any soreness in his ankle, the running back should play Saturday against Jacksonville.
Johnson hurt his right ankle when tackled at the end of a 35-yard run late in last week’s 27-13 loss at Indianapolis and did not practice Tuesday or Wednesday.
With two games remaining, Johnson is 70 yards away from 1,000 yards rushing. If he reaches that, he would join Hall of Fame running back Earl Campbell (1978-1981) and Eddie George (1996-2000) as the only ones to run for at least 1,000 yards in each of his first four seasons with this franchise.

• BROWNS: Cleveland placed safety T.J. Ward (sprained right foot) on injured reserve. Ward, a second-round draft picks last season, made 38 tackles and forced one fumble.
• JETS: New York linebacker Calvin Pace was fined $15,000 by the NFL for a hit on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick on Sunday. Pace slammed into Vick as he threw a touchdown to Brent Celek and was called for a 15-yard roughing-the-passer penalty.
