A 24-year-old pregnant D.C. woman was hospitalized in serious condition Thursday after her boyfriend stabbed her multiple times during an argument, Metropolitan Police Department officials said.
The couple was arguing at their home in the 5300 block of Clay Terrace in Northeast when the 30-year-old man began stabbing the woman in the upper body, MPD spokesman Officer Anthony Clay said.
Police were called to the home around 3:15 a.m. and found the woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. The man was arrested after the incident, but it was not immediately clear where he was taken into custody, Officer Clay said.
The man’s name had not been released as of Thursday morning. On Monday, MPD officers fatally shot a gun-wielding man in the same block after receiving calls that a man was firing a weapon there.
